Memoirs of a nutcase....

Hello!! Reizo here again! (well, I know noone else would bother to post from my blog, but I just felt like saying it!~)

So, I wanted to share something VERY interesting yesterday. Trust me, atleast for me, it was crazy. So, (once again) here goes nothing...

Well, we have a certain competition here, called WizKids, organized by KrayOn/Horlicks (yeah, I can tell the case is weird). So, there it was, yesterday, I found myself standing on the stage in front of a packed theater  totally out of ideas on what to do.
Well, let's get there from the beginning...
18 years ago, in a hospital...no wait. Thats not right! :P

Okay, okay, I'll begin
It just so happened a week ago, I was told that the WizKids is being hosted, and was given the opportunity to score big on the WizTeam. SO, what do I do?
For the next three days, I try to make a song on the violin. And after some hard work and a lot of fun, I found out...that it's *very* hard (atleast for me) to take multitasking to that level. Maybe humans weren't made for multitasking after all.
So now, three days to go, I picked up the guitar. Made a tune. Wrote some prose. Put it together. And guess what, it even sounded well! So, I was prepared!
or so I thought.

Then, on the day of the WizKids, I decided that I'd go electric, and so borrowed a processor. Oh and, I'd never used one before. Only heard it (and thought it awesome). So, I reached the venue. Hmm, confident enough, I guess. I had a prelim test, some GK, some personality evaluation. Well, I did decent, I guess, coz I got selected as a finalist! :D

So, a few hours left to kill...what did I do?
Of course, the craziness began here. I went and got a school band guitarist. Changed all the tunes I'd made to something better (hopefully), learnt all new tunes, played them without an output on an electric guitar (I could barely hear what I'd been playing). Hmm, my entire music, redone.

Still, I'd managed to learn the new tunes pretty well, could play them easily enough. This would be a piece of cake.
A very spicy cake, as I later found out.
So, I went to the garden outside with the guitar, just to relax and put up a final practice. Oh and, somewhere in between, I went to the essay writing competition and came second.
But anyway, here I am in the garden, relaxing and playing the guitar, when suddenly a classmate turns up and WTF? The plans have been postponed, I'll be on stage in twenty minutes!
But well, I'm prepared. I'll do it.
So, I'm backstage, and I now know that all of us have a three minute stage entry - one for intro, two for talent. Okay. Even if I've never played with a processor, or in front of more than two people before, I convince myself I can do this. Now, the fourth entry goes, and then...

....and them I'm told they don't have an extension cord for the processor, so either I go acoustic, or I forfeit.
Now I knew this, it would most likely sound like crap if I did it acoustic.
But I also knew that I couldn't give up.
And then, the fourth entry returned. Three minutes to go.

So, I took out my mobile, selected a song, and gave it to the MC. I'll do what comes truly from my heart. I'll dance.

And lo! It's my turn. I walk on stage. The crowd erupts! They cheer REIZO! REIZO!....even though it's my nickname.
I smile. I inroduce myself. The song starts.

There I stand, with no idea whats gonna happen.

and then, I start flowing. I dance. Enjoy. People scream, clap. I almost cry from relief. And the two minutes are over. I returned.

Now I'll skip to the end. Of course, I didn't win. They could tell I hadn't practiced. I was good, but not the best. Good enough to be runner up.
I was happy. My friends had won. I had done the impossible. I had escaped a catch22. I was proud of myself.

But wait! for those of you who prefer happy(-er) endings, I have something. I have been given a chance. A wild card competition. They still haven't told us what it'll be. But trust me, I will do my best. I will win. Just.....have faith in me. :)

.........until next time, people! Stay kickin'!

and please, PLEASE tell me what you think of the.....incident (?).
