A knight in white

Now, this is a little out of schedule. But then, there are things in life that you never planned for, never prepared for.
Doesn't mean you can't appreciate them, does it?
And yes, it's another poem, for another person, who most certainly, single-handedly, gave me one of the most memorable days of my life.

We walk the straight roads tonight
Missing the love, missing the fight
Mad as I, I took a turn, turn back round
Found something that could never be found

Simple isn't the word, that I'd choose to use
Of words, I have a herd, yet not know which will fuse
With her eclectic life of troughs and crests
Of smiling through worsts and crying through bests.

Never had it easy, served on a plate
Had to first find a hunger, which to sate
Yet, human, it's not easy to be
Easier for most, to give in to destiny

Tugs and tumbles, yet holds the line
Pain and pleasure, a line so fine
Yet walks like a ballerina on fire
Holding on to her desire

I can't give her words what they deserve
Yet I can, in my heart, preserve
A portrait of a diva to kneel
A lady bound with love, velvet and steel

Unafraid to walk paths that none have dared to before
A knight in white from the days of yore

Sorry, Em. Was too lazy to post it last night. :P
